Arriving in Sydney, seeing my first ever car accident and checking in

Everything from Hong Kong went fairly smootly, I passed through security and immigration, there was a long queue for the taxis, but we were too excited to let it bother us.
We were in the taxi, looking out the window at our new home and just talking about what we thought would happen over the next few months. We pulled up at a traffic light on a crossroads, and I happened to be looking out the front windscreen.
On the road to the right of us a car was travelling at quite some speed, it clipped the curb and the car flipped onto two wheels and was still moving across the road, I could see the whole underside of the car as it passed us. Suddenly it bashed down onto all 4 wheels and smashed straight into an electricity pylon. The whole thing seemed to happen in slow-motion, people stood still for maybe half a second, then, time clicked back into place. Everyone ran over to the car made sure everyone was alright, were dialling the ambulance on their phones.
It's crazy, I've never seen a car accident happening right in front of my eyes before, and here were were having spent less than an hour in Sydney witnessing this.
Once a few swear words had been uttered (mostly from my behalf) and we knew they were okay, we drove on.
Our accommodation and the staff were lovely, we checked in with no major problems (I'll explain this later), and liked our room. We decided to go out straight away as we needed to buy towels, bedsheets, food, pots and pans etc. If we laid down on our beds, we wouldn't have got back up. Within 4 hours and multiple trips back and forth, we had transformed The room into Our room for the months to come.
We decided to go out for dinner that night, we hoped that walking around trying to find a resto would help us to exlpore the city. We ended up walking for around 30-40 minutes, and all we could find was Asian food. We couldn't understand why and debated just ordering pizza to be delivered back at our flat. Eventually we found a burger place, it wasn't anything special but we were so hungry that we didn't have much choice. When we got home, we realised that our accommodation is right next to China town which explains everything.
傻女孩 (stupid girls)

Saw a piece of home walking around - a Belgian cafe :D
